1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to any hosting, email, cloud, VPS, dedicated server, network, VoIP, PBX, managed service or other infrastructure supplied or managed by Hozit Domain Hosting (Pty) Ltd.
The Customer is responsible for use of the services by its employees, contractors, customers, applications, websites and authorised users.
2. Lawful use
Services may only be used for lawful purposes and in accordance with applicable South African law, relevant international law and binding third-party provider requirements.

4. Email and messaging abuse
Customers may not use the services to send unsolicited bulk communications, deceptive marketing messages, mail bombs, phishing messages or communications that conceal or falsify the sender.
Mailing lists must be permission-based, must identify the sender and must provide an effective method for recipients to opt out where required.
5. Security and system abuse
The following activities are prohibited unless expressly authorised in writing as part of a legitimate security service:
- unauthorised vulnerability scanning or penetration testing;

- password cracking, credential stuffing or brute-force attacks;

6. Excessive resource use
Customers must remain within the resource limits of the purchased package. Processes that materially degrade shared infrastructure may be restricted or moved to a more suitable service.
Cryptocurrency mining, public file-sharing nodes, high-volume scraping, open proxies and similar resource-intensive activities require prior written approval.
7. Customer security responsibilities

- enable multi-factor authentication where available;
- keep software, plugins and devices updated;
- remove unused accounts and access credentials;
- maintain appropriate anti-malware controls;

- report suspected compromise promptly.
8. Investigation and cooperation
Hozit may investigate credible reports of abuse and may require the Customer to provide information, remove content, secure an affected system or cease prohibited activity.
Hozit may disclose information where required by law, a valid legal process or an authorised regulatory or law-enforcement request.
9. Enforcement
Depending on the severity and urgency of a violation, Hozit may issue a warning, restrict traffic, isolate a system, suspend a service, remove unlawful material or terminate the affected service.
Where circumstances reasonably permit, the Customer will be given notice and an opportunity to remedy the problem.
10. Reporting abuse
Suspected abuse may be reported to info@hozit.co.za. Reports should include the affected domain, IP address, relevant timestamps and supporting evidence.
